'Fiza' producer Pradeep Guha succumbs to cancer

Veteran actor Manoj Bajpayee, Tisca Chopra, Shekhar Kapur and Lara Dutta mourns the demise of producer and media giant Pradeep Guha, who passed away today at Kokilaben Hospital.

Fiza and Phir Kabhi producer Pradeep Guha passed away today battling liver cancer. He was the current Managing Director of 9X Media and a former President of The Times of India Group, where we worked for almost 30 yrs.

Mourning the demise of his friend, Manoj Bajpayee tweeted, “Deeply shocked and saddened to hear about my friend @guhapradeep‘s passing away!! May you rest in peace Pradeep”

‘Fiza’ producer Pradeep Guha succumbs to cancer

Actor Lara Dutta Bhupathi wrote, “My dearest PG you were always the KING who was the most successful ‘Queen maker’. May we, your protégés always keep your memory alive and shining bright and may you always watch over us as you have always done. #RIP Broken heart. @priyankachopra @deespeak @thesushmitasen”

Tisca Chopra wrote, “Can’t believe you aren’t around anymore PG! Feeling so numb .. Heavens beware, you have a blitzkrieg arriving .. journey on in love my friend #PradeepGuha RIP”

Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur shared, “Shocked to hear of the passing away of Pradeep Guha. Friend, Pioneer, Game Changer, Mentor to so many. He transformed the media landscape in India. In grief and with love…you’ll be missed Pradeep #pradeepguha”

Guha, known fondly as PG, was diagnosed with advanced liver cancer (stage 4) three weeks ago and was being treated by some of the top specialists in Mumbai.

Unfortunately, his condition deteriorated rapidly due to the aggressive nature of the cancer. He was put on ventilator support on Thursday morning at Kokilaben Ambani Hospital.

He was also the CEO of Zee Entertainment Enterprises from 2005 to 2008. He is survived by his wife Papia and son Sanket.
