Kolkata: All India Trinamool Congress (AITMC) organises protests across the state to condemn the gruesome murder of 5 Bengalis in Assam. TMC condemn the brutal killings of innocent Bengalis in Bhartiya Janata Party-ruled State. Thousands of people have hit the streets in protest today.

West Bengal Chief Minister has urged people to condemn the murder of innocents and turn the social media pictures black.

“In solidarity, on #ProtestDay to condemn the brutal killings of Bengalis by a State ruled by the #BJP, we are turning our Twitter/FB DPs into black. Street protests throughout #Bengal. Please turn your DP into black for today,” she tweeted.

“BJP wants to drive out Bengalis from Assam,” said West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The Chief Minister had commented during a rally in north-Bengal on October 30.

Trinamool had raised the issue of human rights violations due to National Register for Citizens (NRC) in the parliament during the Monsoon Session.

Since the final draft of the NRC was made public in July, Mamata Banerjee has lashed out against the decision, alleging that it could trigger a civil war.
