In a major blow to the Sasikala clan, former Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa’s nephew Deepak Jayakumar said that newly elected AIADMK deputy general secretary TTV Dinakaran is unfit to lead the party and demanded that leadership should be given to O Panneerselvam to maintain its unity.
Jayakumar also offered to pay the Rs 100 crore fine imposed by the court on Jayalalithaa.
Dinakaran is not fit to be the party deputy general secretary.

“My aunt was opposed to family politics. She got Dinakaran MP post (sic), and she threw him out of the party too,” he was quoted by Times of India as saying.
“The party needs officials like Panneerselvam, E Madhusudanan and C Ponnaiyan. I hope Dinakaran will understand that,” he added.
Refering the split within AIADMK as a family dispute, he said “My aunt (Sasikala) is already there (as general secretary). OPS anna (brother) should be given Dinakaran’s post.”
Jayakumar further added that a probe into Jayalalithaa’s death would demean her stature. “But if they want, let us have a probe. We are ready to prove our innocence to all, including my sister Deepa. Everything from hospitalisation to treatment was genuine,” he said.
