Amazon Prime Video came out with hit shows like Paatal Lok Season 2, The Family Man Season 3, and Panchayat Season 4.
Netflix also dropped strong titles like Delhi Crime Season 3, Rana Naidu Season 2, and Khakee: The Bengal Chapter. JioHotstar, Zee5, and other streaming apps also added many new shows through the year.

Panchayat Season 5
Fans loved Panchayat Season 4 and made it a record-breaking success. Because of that, everyone now waits for Panchayat Season 5. Amazon Prime Video is expected to release the new season sometime in 2026. The platform has not shared any fixed date yet, but the work seems to be moving forward.
Actor Faisal Mallik, who plays Prahalad in the show, shared an update during a talk with PinkVilla.
He said, “The shooting is yet to happen. Once it’s done, it’ll take around one to one and a half years. They’re currently writing the script behind closed doors. The scientist takes a year to come up with a script. Filming will happen next year (2026), but the release depends on Amazon Prime.” His words show that the team is still writing and the shooting will begin next year.

Farzi Season 2
Farzi Season 1 became one of the most-watched shows on Amazon Prime Video. So fans have been waiting for Season 2 for a long time. Reports say that the makers want to bring Farzi Season 2 by 2026. Actress Raashii Khanna also shared that the team is getting ready. She told Filmfare, “We are starting shoot in the beginning of next year. I don’t know when it will release.”
Since the creators are the same people behind The Family Man, many expect the second season to arrive around Diwali 2026.
Gullak Season 5
Gullak is known for being one of the best simple family dramas in India. The makers have confirmed that Gullak Season 5 will arrive in 2026. But this time the show will have a major change. Actor Vaibhav Raj Gupta, who played Annu, has left the show due to creative differences. Reports say a new actor may take over the role.
The rest of the cast stays the same, including Jameel Khan as Santosh Mishra, Geetanjali Kulkarni as Shanti Mishra, and Harsh Mayar as Aman Mishra. The new season will continue the middle-class story that fans love so much, but it will come with a fresh Annu.
