Due to the incessant rains and landslide, normal life disrupted and train traffic was stopped on the Konkan rail route. Landslip near Jite station blocked train traffic. Tracks on Amba Konkan railway bridge near Nagothane were inundated in flash floods.

As the train traffic was disrupted, three trains from Kerala to Mumbai have been cancelled. Kanyakumari – Mumbai CST Jayanti Janata Express, Nagercoil – Mumbai CST Express and Thiruvananthapuram Central – Lokmanya Tilak Express were cancelled.

However, passengers can apply for refund of their reserved tickets on the cancelled trains.

Refund of tickets taken from ticket counters can be collected from station itself. Railway has decided to arrange fund for reimbursement at respective stations. Earlier, if a train was cancelled, refund was initiated without filing an application. However, the railway amended this norm.

Reimbursement of money for passengers who booked seats through credit or debit cards will have a delay. This time, the railway has not extended the time period for filing TDR. Passengers who want refund have to file TDR within 72 hours. However, passengers who took general tickets will lose their money.
