A Tripura Border Security Force (BSF) commandant, Deepak Mondal, was attacked by unknown miscreants on Monday. Belonging to the 145th battalion of the BSF, Deepak is reportedly in a critical condition and will be airlifted to Kolkata.
According to the BSF, Mondal was attacked after he challenged a group of people, who were smuggling cattle.
The commandant was on his routine visit to the border area of the Sonamura (Tripura) Police Station when the smugglers equipped with bricks and lathis attacked him.
