New Delhi, Jan 13 (IANS) Twitterati on Monday praised the Australian authorities for airdropping carrots and sweet potato for endangered brush-tailed rock wallabies in fire-affected areas. One user wrote: “Thank you to all men and women who have done what they can to feed these desperate animals.”

“This shouldn’t be a one-off thing. Do it weekly at least for a few months,” said another.

Another user tweeted: “The thing that worries me is the trees that koalas eat. They can’t eat anything else, for the most part. Poor little ones!”

“What an amazing and heartbreaking story,” commented a Twitter user.

One tweet read: “Good news and positive impacts (unless the carrots grow invasive but let’s let that go for now!)”

“Geez… you guys could have got some tiny parachutes too! Imagine the squirrels hurt by a falling carrot! … nice work helping the wallabies,” remarked a user.

One user posted a funny remark: “What if the carrot or sweet potato lands on their head?”
