Aadhaar Card Date Of Birth: The Unique Identification Authority of India has again made it clear that Aadhaar cannot be used to prove someone’s age or date of birth. It can still be used to show who you are and where you live, but not how old you are.

They explained that Aadhaar is only meant to confirm identity. It does not properly check or guarantee details like date of birth. So even if a date of birth is written on the card, it may not always be fully correct.

Aadhaar Address Change Without Personal Proof? UIDAI’s New Method Explained

Why DOB on Aadhaar May Not be Reliable?

The date of birth shown on Aadhaar comes from what a person gives at the time of making or updating the card. Because of this, sometimes people may give an approximate date or may not have proper documents at that time.

This means the date written could be right, but it could also be guessed or entered without strong proof. UIDAI says Aadhaar is only used to match a person with their biometric details like fingerprints, photo, and basic info such as name and address. It does not check if the age or birth date is true from official records.

They also said different departments and offices can decide if they want to accept Aadhaar or not for their work. Aadhaar can be used as a supporting document, but not as full proof for everything.

All Aadhaar Types are Valid with Limits

UIDAI has said that all forms of Aadhaar are valid. This includes the physical card and e-Aadhaar. These are accepted for identity and address. But none of them can be used as a strong proof of date of birth.

How to Correct Date of Birth in Aadhaar?

If someone wants to fix or update their date of birth in Aadhaar, they must give proper documents. UIDAI only accepts changes when valid proof is shown.

Some accepted documents are:

  • Birth Certificate
  • Valid Indian Passport
  • Service Photo Identity Card
  • Pensioner Photo Identity Card
  • School mark sheet or certificate from a recognised board

Without these, only limited or approximate details may be recorded.

New Update With Google Wallet

There is also a new update from Google. Indian users will now be able to store their Aadhaar verified details safely in Google Wallet. This will help people use a digital option for showing identity or age in daily life situations.
