UK hate crime: Muslim woman assaulted, hijab ripped off

Recently, a woman in the UK, wearing hijab was allegedly pushed to the ground from behind. Her hijab was ripped off amid a spike in hate crime incidents following the two terror attacks which took place in Manchester earlier.

As reported, the woman after getting down from her car with her three-year-old daughter was pushed from behind and knocked to the ground. His hijab was then later ripped off. The assault took place in Fengate, Peterborough.

However, the police confirmed that the assault is a racially or religiously aggravated crime.

According to Telegraph reports, the accused was describes as white, tall and wearing a black hooded top.

“The victim, though uninjured, was shocked from the attack,” a spokesperson said.

The UK has been witnessing assault crime since the attacks which took place at a concert in Manchester that claimed 22 lives while the other at a bridge wherein eight persons were killed by a van.

A few days ago, a similar incident happened in Australia with hijab-clad Muslim school girls who were forced to leave an expo.

Anti-Muslim crimes in the British capital increased fivefold since the London attack. London Mayor Sadiq Khan said last week, warning that police would take a “zero-tolerance approach”.

The kind of incidents reported included a bomb threat received by a Muslim school, racist graffiti and a niqab-clad woman being told she should not be wearing the Islamic outfit.

Also, a Muslim woman was spat on while a teenaged Muslim girl taunted by a passer-by who said, “when are you going to stop bombing people.
