UP Chief Minister and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi will jointly address the first press conference after the alliance in Lucknow on Sunday.
“The time and venue of the media interaction is yet to be finalised,” a senior SP leader told reporters on Friday.
The joint appearance is intended to remove the voter’s confusion on the alliance to gain maximum support from voters.
The two top leaders were previously expected to make a joint announcement about the alliance on January 22, but later state chiefs of the two parties, Raj Babbar (Congress) and Naresh Uttam (SP) announced the deal jointly, Indian Express reported.
Akhilesh had shared stage with a Congress leader in Lakhimpur Kheri district.He called the alliance a “winning combination” and that there was no doubt it would go on to form the next government with a majority.
On Sunday, The alliance between the Congress party and Samajwadi party for the upcoming Assembly polls was sealed. According to the alliance, Congress party will contest from 105 seats and SP will contest for 298 seats.
