UPTET 2021 cancelled following paper leak on WhatsApp group; exam to be held next month

UPTET exam 2021 cancelled update: The Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) 2021, scheduled to be held on Sunday, has been cancelled due to an alleged paper leak.

According to sources, a few minutes before the exam, the question paper went viral on several WhatsApp groups in Ghaziabad, Mathura, and Bulandshahr.

While a special task force is investigating the matter of the UPTET 2021 paper leak, several people have been arrested in connection to the case by the UP special task force.

Here is what Prashant Kumar, additional director general (ADG), law and order said

“In a preventive measure as many 23 people were arrested by the UPSTF from across the state who had question papers in their possession. Following which it was shared with the government and a decision was taken to cancel the paper.”

While the exam was to be conducted under the strict supervision of a visiting team, sector magistrate, and static magistrate, the District Inspector of Schools (DIOS) had instructed all the centre administrators to reach the designated centres by 7.30 am today.

Dr Satish Dwivedi, Basic Education Minister informed media that the Uttar Pradesh government will conduct the exam again within a month.

While the Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board (UPBEB) will hold the exam after a month, the candidates will not have to pay any fees again.
