In an incident that shows how much the Obama’s value simplicity, Sasha Obama, daughter of US President Barack Obama, has swapped the comforts of the White House for the counter of a seafood restaurant.
The First daughter can be seen wearing the restaurants’ uniform of blue T-shirt and cap and working at a till. The seafood restaurant is located at Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts and is a favourite of the Obamas for their summer breaks. Sasha or Natasha is accompanied by six secret service agents who can be seen helping her out or waiting by her.
The 15-year-old’s job profile includes waiting on tables and helping to prepare the restaurant for its lunchtime opening. A co-worker said, “She’s been working downstairs at takeout. We were wondering why there were six people helping this girl, but then we found out who it was.”
Even though the White house has not commented anything on this, First Lady Michelle Obama has said that she wants her daughters to have a normal childhood and she constantly tries to bring them up as normally as possible.
Perhaps our ‘VVIP-bhakt’ politicians and businessmen can learn a lesson or two from Obamas and teach their children to get rid of the entire ‘tu-janta-nahi-mera-baap-kaun-hai’ syndrome.
