US may have a Hindu President if it continues to be inclusive: Barack Obama

The first black president for eight years, Barack Obama has said that if the US continues to be inclusive and diverse, it may send a woman, a Hindu, a Jew or a Latino to the White House. The retiring president also made it clear that he was not going away entirely as he will speak out if he sees US “core values” in danger.

This may be taken as a warning to the President-elect Donald Trump and his team. While answering to questions at his last news conference on Wednesday, Obama said if the US remained inclusive, giving the same opportunity to everyone, “we’re going to have a woman president, we’re going to have a Latino president, and we’ll have a Jewish president, a Hindu president”.

“Who knows who we’re going to have?” he said adding that “I suspect we’ll have a whole bunch of mixed-up presidents at some point that nobody really knows what to call them.”

Talking about his further plans, Obama said he will spend time with his family, do some writing and hear less of himself talking. But he will not vanish, as former presidents are supposed to, and will carry on speaking on issues of importance to him.

“I want to do some writing,” Obama said adding that “I want to be quiet a little bit and not hear myself talk so darn much. I want to spend precious time with my girls.”
