Congress members in Uttarakhand’s Tehri Lok Sabha seat, spotted a Bharatiya Janata Party’s ‘Mai Bhi Chowkidar’ cap in a vehicle of Election Commission following which, a heated argument erupted at the spot.
The congress supported were agitated to see the staff of election commission sitting in official vehicle with BJP’s promotional cap.
However, the official sitting the vehicle reportedly claimed that the windows of the car were open and a BJP supporter dropped a party’s cap on the dashboard. The staff member further suggested that the incident does not prove that he was promoting any political party or opposing the others.
Refuting to the claims, supports carried out slogans against the ruling party and even asked the accused EC staff to carry Congress’s flag on its car.
The party members have taken the matter to the State Election Commission. The probe in underway.
