A case of a fake guide raping a Canadian tourist has surfaced. On Monday evening, the tourist made loud shouts after the accused chased her at the Assi Ghat.
Following the loud noise, inspector of the tourist police got hold of the fake tourist guide and gave them to the Assi Police station.
According to the Canadian resident, she came to Varanasi on 16 January and was living in Nagwa situated guest house, read an Amar Ujala report. On 29 January, while travelling around Assi Ghat area, she met Ajay, who introduced himself as a tourist guide, a resident of Chandauili district, PDDU nagar police area, Maddiya village.
According to the reports, the woman shared her wish to see the village, following which on February 6, Ajay took her to the village and during this time Ajay misbehaved with her and left her at Varanasi.
On Monday evening, Ajay chased him after which the woman shouted, following which he was taken into custody by the tourist police and was given to the nearby Police station.
