Various new Secretary level appointments cleared by Government

Several new Secretary level appointments have been made by the government on Wednesday in various sectors such as Defence, WCD, Tribal Affairs, Tourism, Consumer Affairs, Textiles etc. According to a circular issued by the Appointment Committee of the cabinet, it has approved a set of 6 officers who has been appointed to new posts in the central government.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the following appointments-

(i) Rakesh Srivastava who was the Member Secretary, National Commission for Backward Classes has been made the Secretary, Ministry of Women & Child Development, after the seat fell vacant due to appointment of the present incumbent Smt Leena Nair as Secretary, Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

(ii) Sanjay Mitra, who was the Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways has been made the Officer on Special Duty in the Ministry of Defence. The officer will take over as Secretary.

(iii) Rashmi Verma, who was the Secretary of Ministry of Textiles as Secretary has been appointed as the Ministry of Tourism.

(iv) Leena Nair who was the Secretary of the Ministry of Women & Child Development has been appointed as the Secretary, Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

(v) Jagdish Prasad Meena who was the Special Secretary of Ministry of Food Processing Industries has been appointed as Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs.

(vi) Anant Kumar Singh who was the Additional Secretary & Financial Adviser, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas has been appointed as the Secretary of Ministry of Textiles.
