Florida: A couple has starved their 5 months old baby by feeding him recipe found on the internet instead of the formula prescribed the doctor. The couple has been accused of almost starving their baby to death.
Parents Julia French, 20, and Robert Buskey, 31 house was being monitored by the police when they found the child close to death with sunken eyes, loose skin, ribs and bones visible, Said the reports.
The police said that they found the child in an unable to move condition at his house in Florida city of Titusville.
The five-month-old child was found weighing just 3.84kg – which was just 42 grams more than he weighed when he was born in September at 3.4kg, records show.
“I’ve never seen a child to this level; this close to possible death,” Officer Lauren Watson told.
The couple is not officially married but reportedly the mother describes herself as Buskey’s concubine under the principles of their religion, Nazarite Hebrew.
The couple told the police that they fed the couple a French compound they found on the internet, which matched up with their vegan lifestyle but the doctors recommended them another type of formula to be fed to the baby.
They were charged on neglecting their child and their son has been placed under the care of the Department of Children and Families. The infant is reportedly already 22grams heavier after receiving treatment.
