Rakesh Sharma biopic titled, Saare Jaahan se Accha is quite in the news since its inception. The film has been the talk of the town over its casting. Initially, Aamir Khan was approached to play the lead in Saare Jahaan Se Achcha. However, due to prior work commitments, the Dangal start had to opt out and he recommended Shah Rukh Khan’s name. The makers of the film considered SRK’s name and reportedly, the superstar even agreed to do the film. However, the fresh reports on the film stated that the makers of Rakesh Sharma biopic have approached Vicky Kaushal to step into SRK’s shoes. Although there’s no official confirmation on the same.
Recently, rumours were doing rounds that the superstar has backed out of the film completely and the makers are now thinking of casting someone else in the lead. The Don franchise helmed by Farhan Akhtar may be the reason behind this. However, SRK has yet not spoken about it. Producer Ronnie Screwvala, at the trailer launch of Sushant Singh and Bhumi Pednekar’s Sonchariya, was asked about Shah Rukh Khan opting out of Rakesh Sharma biopic and if Vicky is being considered as his replacement. To which he reacted saying, “we are not ready to say anything right now.”

The film is tentatively titled Saare Jahan Se Acha. For the unversed, the movie is based on the life of India’s first astronaut Rakesh Sharma and the movie will be helmed by Mahesh Mathai.
