Photos to unveiled Rs 50 denomination notes is going viral on the internet. However, there is no official word on these images that have gone viral.
In December last year, the Reserve Bank of India(RBI) had said that it will issue Rs 50 and Rs 20 notes with numerals in ascending size in the number panels.
However, the picture that is going viral on social media seems to be different. The note looks to be in a paled turquoise colour and it has Mahatma Gandhi series 2005. It also bears the signature of RBI governor, Urjit Patel.
Since demonetisation was announced in November last year, Rs 50 notes were no longer in circulation. The apex bank had introduced new notes of Rs 500 and also Rs 2000 in order to refill the circulation. The demonetisation move was carried out to cut down on corruption and counterfeit currency in the country.
