A youth has stabbed mother with a scissor in her right eye in Varanasi on Thursday as he was infuriated over extreme interference in his married life, said police. The youth was arrested and his mother was sent to BHU in serious condition.
The accused, Chandan Gupta is in his mid twenties. He attacked his mother, Suman Gupta with a scissor and also pierced her right eye. Suman sustained severe injuries and was admitted to government hospital and then shifted to BHU trauma centre.
Chandan told police that his mother used to beat his wife and used to keep her busy in household chores. Whenever his wife use to come to him, his mother used to call her for some task. He even said that that his mother didn’t want his wife to live with him.
“My mother didn’t let my wife stay in my room. Wherever my wife got into my room, my mother used to yell at her and ask her to come out for some work. She is my wife. Don’t I have the right to love her?,” he said.
Station officer, Akhilesh Mishra said that the youth was arrested and a case was registered. Early inquiry revealed that he used to fight with his mother over some or the other issues and further probe was on.
