The protest at Duck pond, Aligarh Muslim University, by teachers and concerned citizens reached its 11th day Saturday. People stood for candlelight vigil from 6:30-7:30, as daily. During the protest, a Hindi Department Professor Kamlanand Jha spoke very strongly against the draconian CAA-NRC and gave a call to people to give up their fears in this struggle.

“The government had terribly failed and keeps lying to its people. These lies are fully understood by everyone and the divisive politics stands rejected,” Kamlanand Jha said.

His address was followed by beautiful rendition of Faiz’s poem ‘Hum dekhenge’ by Kanupriya Jha, daughter of Kamlanand Jha. This was followed by University Tarana and National Anthem.

Meanwhile, students have resolved to continue their sit-in protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), despite a stern warning from the varsity administration.
