A Congress corporator from Maharashtra, Vikrant Chavan’s video has gone viral showing him shouting at metro station staffers and hitting a woman journalist at a metro station in Mumbai.
The journalist took to twitter, narrating the incident, and also shared the video where the corporator is seen losing his calm. Chavan was creating a ruckus inside the metro station and was yelling at some of the staff for unknown reasons.
In a series of tweets, the journalist explained that when she approached a security staffer to enquire the reason behind the corporator’s anger, she was told that he is only asserting his political power and is unwilling to listen. Upon being told by the security staff that it was a silent zone, the corporator reportedly fired up further.
I have been getting a lot of calls from everyone over the incident involving corporator Vikrant Chavan. Thank you, but this thread was posted to only highlight abuse of power.I am not a victim here.I am not injured. He hit to stop the video. No police complaint or news needed https://t.co/1p0g6DvnVG

A few days ago, NCP corporator Kaptan Malik, who also happens to be the brother of minister Nawab Malik assaulted workers who were repairing power supply network at Kurla in Maharashtra last month. In the video he can be seen behaving like a thug, beating up helpless workers disdainfully.
