In terms of employment, building is among the most sought-after sectors in the US.

According to June employment numbers published by the Department of Labor, the American economy created 206,000 new jobs. Employment rose most in the building, health care, social support, and government sectors.

Not only are construction workers in great demand, but their average pay is also more than the $7.25 per hour federal minimum wage. But as other labor rights advocates have noted, it is insufficient to make up for the dangers and strenuous physical labor involved.
