These are the three states that will issue checks through their various programs:
- New York: School Tax Relief (STAR) Program.
- Sacramento – California: Guaranteed Income Pilot: September 15
- Alaska:Permanent Fund Dividend (PFD): September 11
How much can you get from STAR Program?
Homeowners who qualify can get payments ranging from $350 to $600, and seniors may get a bigger amount, anywhere between $700 and $1,500.
California Family Assistance Pilot Program: Requirements
These are the requirements:
- Residency:Applicants must reside in one of the following zip codes: 95815, 95821, 95823, 95825, 95828 and 95838.
- Applicants must be the parent or legal guardian of a child between the ages of 0 and 5.
- Household income:Applicants must have an annual household income below 200% of the federal poverty threshold.

Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend: Requirements
These are the requirements:
- To qualify, you gotta show you’ve been living in Alaska all through 2024 and actually plan to stick around.
- You can’t be claiming residency in another state or country since the end of 2023.
- No felonies that year and no long jail time for a bunch of misdemeanors.
- If you left Alaska, it can’t be for more than 180 days unless it was for real reasons like going to school, health issues, or military duty. It’s basically about proving you really live there and are part of the state.
