SSDI August 2025: The Social Security Administration is sending the last round of Social Security Disability Insurance checks for August 2025 today, August 27. This money is very important for millions of Americans who depend on it every month to pay bills, rent, food, and other living costs.

Today’s deposit is only for people who were born between the 21st and 31st of any month, so for them this is the final payment of the month. For many families, this check is the last push of money before September starts.

SSDI August 2025: How much do yo get?

The average SSDI check right now is about $1,537 a month. Some people, who have worked many years and paid higher Social Security taxes, can even get up to $5,108 which is the maximum in 2025. But that is not common.

To get that much, a person needs a long work history with high earnings, plus the right disability status and age. Most people get closer to the average, which may not sound huge but still makes a big difference for those who cannot work.

Who can get SSDI?

Not everyone can collect SSDI. To qualify, a person must have a serious disability that stops them from working. They also need enough Social Security work credits, normally 40 credits, and at least 20 of those credits should be from the last 10 years.

On top of that they must be younger than full retirement age, because when they reach that point, SSDI turns into retirement benefits. This way the program makes sure the help goes to workers who really paid into the system and are now unable to work because of disability.

What if you don’t receive the Payment?

Missing or delaying a check can cause big stress. Today’s deposit closes the August payment cycle which already had earlier payments on August 13 and August 20. If someone does not see money in their account right away, they are told to check their “My Social Security” account or ask their bank, because sometimes the money is a little late.
