On December 25, Union Minister Smriti Irani shared the news of her daughter Shanelle Irani’s engagement to Arjun Bhalla and shared heartwarming photos from the event on Instagram.
Even though the minister doesn’t really share much about her kids on social media, this was an event worth sharing. After the announcement, Smriti Irani’s future son-in-law Arjun Bhalla has been in the headlines and everyone wants to know who he is.

Who is Arjun Bhalla?
Arjun Bhalla is a Canadian legal professional who has his roots in India. He is famous for being the would-be-son-in-law of the famous Indian politician and TV actor Smriti Irani.
Arjun Bhalla was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He did his schooling at St. Robert Catholic High School, Ontario, Canada.
From 2009 to 2013, he pursued a Bachelor of Science (Psychology, Ethics Law & Society) from St. Michael’s College, Toronto, Canada. He did LLB Senior Status from the University of Leicester, United Kingdom, from 2013 to 2015.
His father’s name is Sunil Bhalla, and his mother’s name is Sabina Bhalla. He has one brother, Amar Bhalla.
In May 2014, he started working as an account manager at Breakwater Solutions Inc. in Toronto, Canada. He then did summer training at Trowers & Hamlins, London, UK. Arjun then worked as a legal intern at various organizations. In October 2014, he joined Apple Inc. as a technical specialist in London, UK. He then started working at a legal firm in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Notably, Shanelle is the daughter of Smriti’s husband Zubin Irani and his first wife Mona Irani. Smriti has two sons, Zohar and Zoish.
Soon when Smriti shared this news through her instagram handle, many congratulatory messages started coming in, Smriti’s close friend filmmaker Ekta Kapoor wrote, “U prayed so hard for this, sooo happieeeee” and TV actress Mouni Roy wrote, “Heartiest Congratulations.”
A few days ago, Smriti Irani was in the news when she was planning to be featured at The Kapil Sharma Show and the shooting got canceled because of a misunderstanding. According to reports, Smriti, reached on the sets when a private security guard had stopped her from entering the venue.
