Actor Kamal Haasan seems all set to join politics soon. He has been signalling his intention to enter the political arena for a while now. On being asked about his political plans, Haasan said he has been taking advice for some time, most recently from Kerala chief minister and veteran CPI(M) leader Pinarayi Vijayan.
Haasan had lunch with Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan on Friday. “I have been talking to Kerala CM about it. I am taking advice. (I) will meet more politicians before I make my call,” he was quoted as saying.
Another superstar of Tamil Nadu, Rajinikanth, has also indicated his intention to join politics. Both the veterans were seen at an event organised by DMK recently.
Haasan, however, said that he has not decided to join the Left. “I want to be in the middle of things, not leaning to any side,” he added. He also took a jibe at right-wing forces saying, “My colour is obviously seen over the 40 years I have been working in cinema, definitely, it’s not saffron.”
The speculations of Haasan joining politics spread after the demise of J Jayalalithaa. He has been politically vocal and expresses his opinion on ongoing issues.
