The strange dynamics and mystery between a woman, a lipstick and religion has finally been unravelled in Prakash Jha’s latest, ‘Lipstick Under My Burkha.’ The story of four women who dream of fulfilling their wildest fantasies and living alternate lives stars ace actresses like Ratna Pathak Shah and Konkona Sen Sharma along with newcomers.
The movie revolves around these four women and their dreams, it deals with curtains – the ones that hide women in our society and the ones that hide their desires as well. As Ratna Pathak says in the trailer: “Parde bade mote the, Rosy ko koi dekh hi nahi pata.” Capturing the beauty of old Bhopal it deals with the fierceness of womanly desires and their attempts at attaining it.
