Xiaomi Smart Camera 5 Pro Launched: Xiaomi just rolled out a new security camera. It is made to show full colour in both daytime and after dark. Most older models change in the dark. They drop into dull black and white footage, so details are harder to see. This new camera aims to keep colour even in low light. It does that by using two sensors, image processing, and its own lighting.
The Xiaomi Smart Camera 5 Pro is now on sale in China. It is being offered through a crowdfunding drive.

A key point is the dual-sensor setup. There is an 8MP main sensor. There is also a 4MP secondary sensor. Xiaomi says the pair work together to output 4K video.
The unit also includes a soft light. This helps when extra brightness is needed. It supports several night modes. Some are meant to support human detection. There are also modes for event based alerts. Another option is meant to work without a visible red glow.
Local AI Can Detect People, Pets and Crying
Another major feature is the camera’s 1.5 TOPS local AI processing chip. AI processing is performed on the device for functions such as human detection, pet recognition and crying-sound detection, reducing the need to send these detection tasks to the cloud.
360-Degree Coverage and Wi-Fi 6
The Smart Camera 5 Pro has a dual motor setup for pan and tilt. It moves all the way around, with 360 degrees of horizontal range. For tilt, it reaches 174 degrees up and down. That means it can watch a large part of a room.
In terms of connection, it supports dual band Wi Fi 6. It also uses Mijia Smart Connect. There is also two way voice communication. For saving video, you can pick microSD, cloud storage, or NAS.

Privacy Features
Since these cameras can record private moments, Xiaomi added several privacy options. There is a real lens shutter you can close. There are also access controls. Local AI processing is included too.
The AOR low power recording system is meant to cut down on storage use and power during long recording periods.
Price And Availability
The Xiaomi Smart Camera 5 Pro is now on a crowdfunding run in China for 429 yuan. That is about 64 dollars. The regular retail price is planned to be 599 yuan, which is close to 90 dollars.
As of September 18, Xiaomi has not shared a global release date. So there is no confirmed launch for India, the US or Europe yet.
