Xiaomi to Launch HyperOS in India This Month

Xiaomi to Launch HyperOS in India This Month: A recent tweet from Xiaomi India indicates that the company will launch its new operating system, HyperOS, in India on February 29. We will implement the new operating system in automobiles, smart household devices, and smartphones.

Xiaomi unveiled its SU7 vehicle equipped with HyperOS at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024 in Barcelona, for those unaware. Additionally, the company has introduced its flagship devices, the Xiaomi 14, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, and the Tab 6S Pro, featuring Android 14-based HyperOS.

HyperOS Functionality

To clarify, HyperOS was initially unveiled in October 2023 as a substitute for MIUI. It is built upon the self-developed Xiaomi Vela and Linux. Xiaomi Vela is an open-source operating system built upon the NuttX real-time framework. It is a lightweight operating system with the capacity to manage resources to accommodate various device configurations.

In addition to enhanced connectivity and multitasking capabilities, HyperOS features a new user interface, the integration of artificial intelligence to unite interconnected devices (facilitated by HyperMind), and the MiSans font system for international users.

Furthermore, on March 7, Xiaomi is preparing to introduce the Xiaomi 14, an entry-level smartphone that will ship pre-installed with HyperOS. It is anticipated to feature cameras supported by Leica, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, 90W rapid charging, and more. Regrettably, information regarding the Xiaomi 14 Ultra’s India release is currently unavailable.
