In an interesting twist to the rift in Yadav clan, SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav called his son, Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav, and brother Shivpal Yadav to his home and asked them to bury the hatchet. Shivpal was fired by Akhilesh a day earlier and after a day full of clashes and chaos, they have decided to work together.

As reported by Indian Express, Akhilesh and Shivpal spent 45 minutes together at the CM residence in the evening and left together in a car to meet Mulayam Singh. They were there for more than an hour and the SP chief made them hug each other and promise to work together, sources said.

This development came after a day full of clashes between the supporters of Yadav clan and in front of shocked party workers the family power struggle was on public display when Akhilesh traded charges with Shivpal who was backed by Mulayam Singh.

The CM even offered to tender his resignation but Mulayam Singh Yadav turned it down.

Amid the high drama, factions clashed and the meeting ended abruptly after the leaders at the centre of the power tussle had their say. Akhilesh denied the charge that he had any plans to float a new party and offered to step down if Mulayam Singh so wished.
