Yamunanagar is among the 90 constituencies to go for elections for Haryana Legislative Assembly on October 21. Yamunanagar falls under the Ambala Lok Sabha constituency and is a part of Ambala district. Bharatiya Janata Party’s Ghanshyam Dass is the current MLA of Yamunanagar.

In the 2014 Haryana Vidhan Sabha (Haryana Legislative Assembly) Elections, Bharatiya Janata Party’s Ghanshyam Dass defeated INLD hope Dilbagh Singh by more than 18 thousand votes. Dass received 79743 votes to Singh’s 51498 votes.
