In the recent development, Karnataka Assembly speaker KR Ramesh Kumar on Sunday disqualified 11 Congress MLAs and three Janata Dal (Secular) MLAs under the anti-defection law, just a day ahead of the trust vote in the assembly.
With the new development, the magic number to form the government now stands at 104. BJP, however, has the support of the required number of MLAs to form the new government in Karnataka.
Earlier this week, the Speaker had disqualified three rebel MLAs two days after the Congress-JDS alliance government in the state had collapsed.
