13 Arrested in Gujarat and Rajasthan for Drug Possession: In a joint operation conducted by the Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) and the Narcotics Control Bureau, 13 individuals have been apprehended in Gujarat and Rajasthan.
In connection with the alleged possession of mephedrone valued at Rs 230 crore, arrests were made.
Following a tip-off from the ATS, raids were conducted on Friday against Manoharlal Enani from Ahmedabad and Kuldeepsinh Rajpurohit from Rajasthan.
During the raids, officials seized 22.028 kilograms of mephedrone and 124 kilograms of liquid mephedrone, valued at Rs 230 crore. Rajpurohit was apprehended in Gandhinagar, while Enani was detained in Sirohi.
The investigation included units in Sirohi and Jodhpur in Rajasthan, as well as Piplaj village in Gandhinagar and Bhaktinagar industrial area in Gujarat.
In 2015, the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) apprehended Enani for his involvement in the production of mephedrone at an industrial facility in Rajasthan. He had previously served a seven-year sentence.
According to the investigation, all the accused got raw materials from a company in Vapi industrial area in Valsad district.
A probe is underway to find out how long the drug has been produced, how much it’s been sold, and who else is involved.
Mephedrone, ephedrine, and acetone are expected to be recovered in Amreli district, Gujarat, in further raids.’Meow meow,’ also known as mephedrone, poses a significant threat to law enforcement.
