Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has tested positive for COVID-19 two days ahead of assembly session. CM gave the information on Twitter. He wrote, “I was tested for Novel Corona Virus today. My test report has returned positive. I appeal to all colleagues and associates who came in my contact over the last week to get themselves tested. I request my close contacts to move into strict quarantine immediately.”

Last week, Khattar went on self-isolation after Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat tested positive for COVID-19. The Haryana CM had attended a meeting with Shekhawat to discuss Sutlej-Yamuna link canal issue.

On August 21, Khattar was tested for Covid, but his test report came negative. He was tested again, Monday, and found positive.

Early this day, Haryana Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta tested positive for COVID-19, Health Minister Anil Vij confirmed. “The Assembly Speaker and two other MLAs have tested positive for coronavirus,” Anil Vij, who is also the state’s Home Minister, told PTI.
