2024 Yamaha MT-09 SP: The Japanese business Yamaha has presented the new, higher-spec SP version of its triple-cylinder street naked, only days after revealing the revised MT-09. Redesigned underpinnings, updated electronics, and altered looks are among the updates.

2024 Yamaha MT-09 SP Features

• More electronic settings that are track-focused

• Fully adjustable suspension upgraded on both ends

• Redesigned with Brembo Stylema brakes

First off, a lot of the recent changes for the normal bike are also included in the most recent SP version. It now has more aggressive styling and ergonomics, and it comes with the same updated Brembo master cylinder as the normal bike. However, it goes a step further by incorporating Brembo Stylema brakes up front.

A New Look

Additionally improved is the suspension, which now features new fully adjustable parts at both ends. A 41mm KYB fork with DLC coating and adjustable preload, rebound, and high- and low-speed compression damping is included up front. The Ohlins shock with remote preload adjustment, which is fully adjustable, is mounted on the back of the SP.

The SP adds two unique Rider modes and four unique Track modes to the base bike’s Sport, Street, and Rain settings. These include a visible lap-timer on the 5-inch TFT display, and they come with a Track theme. The customizable Track modes let you deactivate the rear ABS and adjust the Engine Brake Management (EBM) through two settings and Brake Control (BC).

The last modification is the addition of a keyless entry system, which makes this the first MT model to include Yamaha’s Smart Key technology. This system enables starting the motorcycle without a physical key and locks and unlocks the handlebar and fuel filling.

The MT-09 was previously available for purchase in India, however after the implementation of BS6 emissions regulations, it was removed from the market. Now that the motorcycle satisfies the most recent requirements, Yamaha has indicated that it would like to bring it back to our market. It’s still unclear, though, if India will get this high-spec SP version.
