A 41 day-old boy from United Kingdom became the youngest donor to donate his organs.

The parents of the deceased boy, Theo Ormondi, decided to donate his organs after their son died of a sudden illness.

The parent’s decision gave a new ray of hope in to the life of two-a five month old baby girl and a young adult.

Theo’s lung helped save five-month old Imogen Bolton, who happened to be the youngest for a double lung transplant earlier this year, while his kidneys were given to a young adult.

Imogen Bolton was suffering from a rare illness Alveolar Capillary Dysplasia (ACD), a type of diffuse developmental disorder of the lung, which made her difficult to breathe, BBC reported.

Theo’s parents, who did not wished to be identified, said BBC the donation had been a “once-in-a-lifetime chance meeting of two little people bravely and beautifully fighting for life”.

“We believe he would have wanted to help others if he had been able to grow up and make the decision himself,” Theo’s parents were quoted by BBC as saying.

Five month old Imogen is recovering at home after the successful transplant, media reported.
