46 Bank employees sent to quarantine centres after currency chest manager tested positive for COVID-19 in Bihar

The employees were sent to quarantine centres after the currency chest manager who was posted there turned out to be coronavirus positive on Friday night.

Patna: The district administration with the team of health department sent 41 employees of a bank to quarantine centres on Saturday. The bank employees were posted at the state capital of Bihar. The employees were sent to quarantine centres after the currency chest manager who was posted there turned out to be coronavirus positive on Friday night.

The DM of Patna Kumar Ravi said that besides the 41 employees of one bank, the five currency chest managers of other banks have also been sent to quarantine centres as precautionary measures. He added to it that the senior manager’s infection is linked with the contact chain of the currency handling frim whose at least four employees have been tested positive for now.

“Samples of all these employees were collected for Covid-19 testing on Saturday. Their test reports are expected to come by Sunday,” he further added to it.

DM said that the functioning of the branch from Monday would depend on several factors including what is the outcome of quarantined employees.

Meanwhile, the health department staff sanitised branch premises from inside and outside on Saturday. The neighbouring areas were also sanitised.
