A video of a soldier appealing for justice for the alleged murder of his mother is doing rounds on Twitter, with none other than Sanjay Nirupam sharing it. Initially shared by an account named as @InfoMumbai, the video shows a cop describing his struggle for justice as it has been more than five years since his mother was brutally murdered by an iron rod. The soldier, Rohidas Bansode demands for a “CBI enquiry” into the “gruesome murder” of his mother, as he alleges that she was tortured after “being branded by a hot iron rod” over a piece of land by some alleged ‘Shiv Sena’ people and urges the chief minister for justice.

The post has managed to get a lot of attention online as people have slammed the government for not ensuring justice to the “protector of nation.” Hashtags like #Surgical_Justice4soldier have been created to garner attention. This news had made headlines in the past and a newspaper report had carried the struggle of this soldier who lamented, “We take care of the country when we are on the border, but if the government can not even take care of our families, what good is our service.” He has generated an online petition and has addressed Sushma Swaraj through twitter too.
