66th National Film Awards announced: “Andhadhun” bags best Hindi film; check complete list of winners

Awards given in 31 categories in feature film category while non-feature films will be announced in 23 categories.

The National Film Awards which is India’s most prominent awards ceremony celebrating the best in Indian cinema was announced on Friday, August 9. The announcement of the 66th National Film Awards were held at Shastri Bhawan in New Delhi.

Earlier today, the jury members submitted their report to Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar with their final recommendations in various categories. Awards were given in 31 categories in feature film category while non-feature films will be announced in 23 categories.

The awards were announced by jury head Rahul Rawail. There is no clarity on when the awards will be presented

Every year, the awards are announced in April and the ceremony is held on May 3. But this year, the awards were postponed in the wake of the general elections.

An Award for film friendly state has been instituted this year. Uttarakhand is the most film-friendly State this year.

Best Director: Uri – Adhitya Dhar

Best Actor: Ayushmann Khuranna for Andhadhun and Vicky Kaushal for Uri

Best Actress: Keerthy Suresh for Mahanati

Best Supporting Actor: Swanand Kirkire for Cumbhak

Best supporting actress: Surekha Sikri for Badhaai Ho

Best Action Direction: KGF Chapter I

Best Choreography:  Padmaavat for Ghumar

Best Cinematography: Ullu (Malayalam)

Best Special Effects: KGF

Best Film for National Integration: Ondalla Eradalla (Kannada)

Best Popular Film: Badhaai Ho

Best film on Environment issues: Paani

Best Debut Film of a Director: Naan

Best film on Social Issues: Padman

Best Production Design:  Kammara Sambhavam (Malayalam)

Best Editing:

Best Costume: Mahanati

Best Make Up artist: Awe

Best Child artist: P V Rohith (Kannada), Sameep Singh (Punjabi), Talha Arshad Reshi (Urdu) and Shrinivas Pokale (Marathi)

Best Children’s Film: Sarkari Area Prathamika Shaale Kasaragod

Best Original Screenplay:   Chi La Sow

Best Adapted Screenplay:  Andhadhun

Best Dialogues: Tariqh
