In a bid to impart the basic knowledge of primary health care among students, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is likely to introduce Health Science as a new subject.
According to reports, Health Science syllabus has been framed by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare along with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences.
The new syllabus will include a guideline basic primary healthcare needs such as what can be done if someone suffers heart arrest all of a sudden.
However, the new syllabus is currently being reviewed by the HRD Ministry. It would be introduced in the new academic session which begins in April. The new syllabus will be added to the existing curriculum of CBSE for standards 9, 10, 11 and 12.
What is Health Science?
Health science is the discipline of applied science. It deals with human and animal health.
Health Science can be divided into two parts.
Part I
The study, research, and knowledge of health
Part II
The application of knowledge to improve health, cure diseases, and understanding how humans and animals function.
