Bollywood film industry is no longer the men’s pitch and the number of women centric movies have gone up. But only a few manage to leave an everlasting impression in the hearts of the audience.
One such movie that made its place in the hearts of the audience and still continues to do so is the Kangana Ranaut starrer Queen which released on 7th March 2014.
Queen proved to be a life changing film in Kangana’s life.
The comedy-drama didn’t just manage to be a hit on the screens but also showcased brilliant acting by Kangana.
On the occasion of Queen’s 6th anniversary Rangoli Chandel, Kangana’s sister shared a few anecdotes related to the film.
1) Kangana didn’t want the film to be named Queen.
According to Rangoli’s tweet, Kangana kept telling director Vikas Bahl that the title Queen might give a wrong message to the audience and people might keep asking her if she is playing a queen in the film.
Another beautiful anecdote is she was adamant to change the name of the film, she kept telling Vikas people ask me are you playing a Queen it gives wrong message pls change the name vikas never listened to her little did they know forever she will be known by this name … QUEEN

3) Release of Queen marked a new high in her personal and professional life.
With the release of Queen, Kangana also faced a low end in the personal life where she broke up with her long time partner who didn’t turn up for her new house warming and Queen’s success party. That’s when Kangana knew its a new end as well a new beginning.
This also marked a new high in her professional life but an all time low in her personal life, she broke up with her long time partner who divorced his wife but when he didn’t turn up for her new house warming and success party of Queen is knew it’s a new beginning and a new end

Even after 6 years Queen continues to be one of the most empowering women-led films to have come out of Bollywood. A film that changed Kangana’s life forever, from rags to riches, from a starlet to the Queen of bollywood, a film that didn’t just change her destiny forever but ignited the fire of feminism in the entire nation. A phenomenal film indeed!
