The coronavirus cases in India has been increasing rapidly. As the number of cases has crossed 400 mark, the govt has declared lockdown in many states considering the situation.
While there are a lot of districts shutting down, there is a viral claim going on over social media which says that Assam CM has also announced the lockdown in the media briefing.

Fact Check:
But when a fact check was conducted on the viral claim, it was found that the claim is false. Assam CM took to Twitter and himself declared the claim false. He also spoke to a news agency and confirmed that the claim going on about the lockdown in Assam is Fake.
Assam CM told news agency, “We have noticed that this WhatsApp message is being circulated, which is completely baseless. We will let everyone know if the Govt takes any such decisions. Request everyone not to panic in our fight against.”
