Patna: The Bihar government decided to promote students of classes 1 to 9 and Class 11 without conducting the annual exam on Wednesday, April 8, 2020. The decision has been taken in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak and the subsequent nationwide lockdown.
“Since the schools cannot open, in the light of the present situation we have taken this decision of promoting students,” Bihar Education Minister Krishna Nandan Verma said, as per media reports.
Bihar School Examination Board (BSEB) will promote classes 1 to 9 and Class 11 students without conducting the annual examinations and can start the next academic year.
BSEB had declared the class 12 exam result on March 24, 2020. The overall pass percentage of Bihar 12th examination 2020 was recorded at 80.44%.
