Donald Trump campaign: With one significant exception, Donald Trump has resumed holding his campaign rallies outside five weeks after the Butler, Pennsylvania, assassination attempt.
In Asheboro, North Carolina, the Secret Service arranged for a
bulletproof glass to encircle Trump’s podium while he addressed a small gathering of supporters.
This procedure is typically reserved for presidents who are in office, but on July 13, after a 20-year-old would-be assassin opened fire during a Trump rally, an exception was made. The gunman killed one man in the crowd and gave the former president a slight cut to his ear.

After the shooting, the Trump team received advice from the Secret Service not to hold outdoor rallies, so all of the campaign events have been held indoors ever since.
The 78-year-old had, however, stated that he preferred to have rallies outside where more people could attend.
To facilitate easy transportation in the event of a need, the Secret Service has prepared multiple sets of ballistic glass to be stored across the nation.
increased security during Trump events
In addition to the bulletproof glass that was positioned in front of and behind Trump, additional security measures included the installation of barriers outside the rally’s immediate perimeter that would obstruct any potential sharpshooters’ view.

Drone use, counter-sniper teams, and multiple snipers stationed on rooftops were among the additional security measures.
For the duration of the election season, Trump will continue to be shielded by the ballistic glass. J.D. Vance and Tim Walz, the vice presidential candidates, Vice President Kamala Harris, and Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff are also receiving extra protection.
