In an unusual incident, a Mumbai-Ranchi Indigo Airlines flight (6E 831) faced a significant delay after a passenger spotted a lizard inside the aircraft. The flight, which was scheduled to take off in the afternoon, was held back on the runway as the cabin crew and ground staff searched for the lizard. The incident caused considerable panic among passengers.
According to reports, the flight was preparing for takeoff when a passenger noticed the lizard and raised an alarm. The situation prompted an immediate response from the cabin crew, who, along with the ground staff, began a thorough inspection of the aircraft. To ensure the safety of all passengers, the pilot announced that the flight would only proceed after clearance from the ground staff.
No Lizard Found
After two hours of inspection and waiting, the airline staff requested all passengers to disembark from the plane to allow for a more comprehensive search. Despite their efforts, the lizard could not be found. Frustrated with the delay, several passengers approached the terminal manager, requesting an alternative aircraft.
The flight, originally scheduled to depart at 1:35 PM, finally took off at 6:45 PM, arriving in Ranchi at 9:33 PM. The return flight from Ranchi to Mumbai, which was also delayed, took off at around 10:15 PM. Upon arrival at Ranchi’s Birsa Munda Airport, Indigo officials confirmed that no lizard was found during the inspection.
The incident caused inconvenience to the passengers, but Indigo Airlines emphasized that passenger safety is their top priority, and such measures are necessary to ensure a safe and comfortable journey for everyone onboard.
