Vijay Deverakonda’s Kingdom Release Delay: The much-anticipated pan-Indian spy thriller Kingdom, headlined by Vijay Deverakonda, has yet again been stalled, and fans are both dismayed and intrigued. Originally assigned a May 30, 2025 theatrical release, it was first delayed because the brand’s promotional path was muddled by rising India-Pakistan national tensions. With the producers gunning for a robust theatrical run, they didn’t want outside pieces stealing the movie’s opening thunder. A new date of July 4, 2025 was later locked in, but even that now seems to be in doubt.

The film’s background score, by the in-demand Anirudh Ravichander, has been delayed. With his busy schedule of other big projects and tours, the music is still a work in progress. Reports indicate that Anirudh requires a minimum of until mid-July to finalize the sound work, which in turn determines the film’s release preparedness.

Producer’s Addressing on Delay
Producer Naga Vamsi, who had been quiet amongst the increasing annoyance from fans, finally addressed the issue on social media. He recognized the crowd’s restlessness and even quipped about the barrage of ‘sweet curses’ coming from fans anxiously awaiting updates. In a touching but funny post, Vamsi swore the hold up is merely because they want a first-rate movie experience. ‘The adrenaline rush this film provides is unreal,’ he penned, confirming Kingdom is already a frontrunner.

There’s no word on the final release date yet. With a few other big-ticket films like Hari Hara Veera Mallu targeting comparable windows in late July, rumors suggest the crew is exploring fresh dates such as July 25 or August 1. My guess it comes down to two things –finished with post production and not a box office clash. Additionally, marketing materials such as teasers and music singles, which we would have expected by now, have been pushed back due to the same backend issues.
Anyway, all of that is to say that yet another delay will break the hearts of fans, but it’s obvious that the makers value quality and timing more than a hurried launch. With star power and anticipation behind the film, Kingdom is being promoted as a blockbuster. As Nag Vamsi assured, the teaser, songs and new release date will drop soon, creating an explosive run-up to its launch. Until then, fans will have to simmer down and hope that the wait is worth it.
