New Delhi, Feb 12 (IANS) Arvind Kejriwal will take oath as Delhi Chief Minister for a third term on February 16 at Ramlila Maidan and his Aam Aadmi Party has invited everyone in Delhi for the event.

Speaking to the media, senior AAP leader and MLA-elect Manish Sisodia said the newly-elected legislators have unanimously elected Kejriwal as leader of the legislature party.

“Everyone in Delhi is invited to come and bless Kejriwal their son, their brother,” said Sisodia.

Kejriwal, the Aam Aadmi Party’s national convener, is the new Chief Minister-elect. He returned to power as his party bagged 62 of 70 seats.

Sisodia said that Kejriwal will take oath as the Chief Minister for the third consecutive term on February 16.

“The oath-taking ceremony will take place at Ramlila Maidan. Kejriwal will be sworn in along with his team of ministers. Kejriwal also met the party MLAs today. The legislators then elected him as the leader of the legislature party. After this, he will stake claim to form the government,” Sisodia said.

He said the oath taking ceremony will start at 10 a.m. and everyone in Delhi is invited to come. Sisodia also expressed his gratitude to the people of Delhi for keeping their faith in AAP.

“This is a historic mandate for the AAP and for the first time in India people voted for the work. People have rejected the politics of hatred. People have shown that the citizens of Delhi are pro-development and pro-work. The people of Delhi believe that the work of the government is to make Delhi a better place. Today, the people of Delhi have proved that the development model of Kejriwal is something which will allow the country and the economy to progress.”

He went on to say that the meaning of the “Deshbhakti” or patriotism is now “giving good education, health infrastructure, making a better city and ensuring the safety of women. Lastly, in this election, the people of Delhi have said that Kejriwal is their son and brother and they want him as the Chief Minister,” added Sisodia.

The party has not named the Cabinet ministers who will take oath with Kejriwal. However, sources say new names can be added to the list of ministers.

All the sitting Cabinet ministers have retained their seats.

The party is yet to name the list of guests who will be invited for the ceremony which is expected to be grander than the last two times.
