Madhya Pradesh: ABVP calls professor anti-national, fearful professor their touches feet

Bhopal: A video of a Professor in Madhya Pradesh running to touch the feet of ABVP workers is going viral on social media. The incident occurred in the Government PG College in Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh. The Professor Dinesh Gupta had stopped the students (ABVP workers) from raising slogans asking them to maintain silence in the campus. This had agitated the ABVP members who in return misbehaved with him and called him anti-national. The ABVP members also threatened him to book a case against him after the professor’s demand to do such activities outside the college premises.

They were calling me ‘Deshdrohi’ and wanted to register a case against me. They are not even students. They don’t even come to attend classes. They are completely involved in politics,” said disappointed Professor Dinesh Gupta.

Professor Dinesh had tried to stop ABVP office-bearers when they were raising slogans in front of a classroom. This had incited anger among the agitating members who started to threaten him.

Fearing that it may turn worst, the professor apologised and touched the feet of the ABVP members. Even the principal was made to come out and raise slogans in support of ABVP workers.

“I want students to study and become successful in their life. I am not going to file any case in this regard against the students,” said the Professor Gupta.

Not stopping there, a senior ABVP functionary has blamed Professor Gupta for the entire incident and said, it was the Professor who was at wrong by stopping the office-bearers when they were raising slogans.
