ACP Transfer Benefits: There are so many things that need to be done online these days that it’s impossible to imagine going more than a few days without an internet connection. What should I do if I need to move my Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP) benefit to someone else?

The ACP is a safety net program from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) that helps low-income people get their home devices online. There are many service providers in the program, so people who qualify can pick the one that best meets their needs.

The FCC lets the recipient change providers once a month if they are already signed up with a company but need to move their ACP benefit to a different company.

The person who wants to receive the money must call the business they want to sign with and ask for the change in order to make the move. Using the NLAD service, the source would make a move, and that would be it.

Can I work for more than one business with ACP?

No is the short answer. Companies that are part of the program get government funds to help pay for services for low-income families. Because of this, they have to tell how many people use the ACP.

If the user moved the benefit after the first of the month, the discount will start to apply at their new job on the first of the next month.

Also, homes that qualify will get a one-time deal of up to $100 when they buy a desktop computer, laptop, or tablet. The beneficiary will not get another deal if they ask for a move of service.

Can I send money more than once a month?

Most of the time, you can only make one move a month. The goal is to keep the customer safe from moves they don’t want or that were made without their permission.

Some things don’t follow the rule, though. To be more specific, if a bad move happened, the beneficiary can ask to go back to their original source. A second change could be asked for if the service provider stops working or doesn’t provide the service.

If the subscriber’s business broke the rules of the program in a way that hurt the customer. This was also true if the customer had to leave the service area after a shift.
